Sports fans out there? Those who are will have heard that Curt Schilling announced his retirement today… via his blog. Now, this is just what SportsCenter told me, so I’m not sure whether his publicist or agent also issued a more traditional press release, but nonetheless, this seems a signal of the changing times. That he could issue such an announcement via his blog, knowing that it would be read, is significant.
I believe that what I have done with the contact form is one of the most notable things about the new site design. In fact, I believe that it is one of the best things I’ve done with the new site. This pretty much means that I need to be able to justify it. So here’s the story:

A scenario I've encountered several times over the last several months: I buy something. Helpful clerk takes my money and asks “Would you like your receipt?” I say “No thanks, I’m alright.” Clerk takes printed receipt and throws it away (or, if I’m really lucky, recycles it). End of transaction. What’s wrong with this picture?
